Background of this CBT IATA Training Program

This program which has been used by shippers, forwarders and airlines around the world for the last 14 years has been updated to include the major changes in the 51st IATA DGR. A current IATA DGR is required to take the program..

This modular training program consists of 9 units and covers all shippers responsibilities such as Identification, Classification, Packing, Marking, Labeling, Handling and Documentation and requires approximately 12-18 training hours. This program, which can be used for recurrent training (required every 2 years) requires considerably less time, depending upon the students' experience in using the IATA DGR.

Students take the course using a current copy of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and in each unit there is an overview of the topics, detailed references to the IATA DGR for appropriate information that the student must read, and then a unit quiz at the end of each unit.

Students take their exams online and are presented with a randomized bank of questions for each IATA unit so that no two employees will get the exact same exam.

Students can start and stop the program at any point (except during the test) and the program will remember where they left off and pick up the training from that point when they log in again. The student cannot complete the course and gain access to the final exam without successfully completing each unit.

During the Unit Quizzes, if the student answers incorrectly more than once, the program will automatically make them start the relevant section of the unit again.

Advantages of computer based training (CBT):

• No travel expenses (this can easily double the cost of a training seminar)
• No travel hassles (this is one of the biggest reasons for the giant leap in sales of our CBT)
• Students study at their own pace
• The student can review or repeat any section until they are comfortable
• The program keeps track of their progress and reinforces learning
• The program keeps a detailed training record of all the units covered and the students progress in each unit
• The training administrator program allows an authorized company administrator to print out student records, including a complete copy of the test and a training record
• The online training version's LMS (Learning Management System) allows a corporate training administrator to track the progress of hundreds of students on a real-time basis.

The cost of the CBT is $295 per user (for the web-based training) and a flat fee of $995.00 per copy (it works as a standalone system) plus $35.00 for each online exam for the CBT/Download based version.

The student will also need a current copy of the IATA Dangerous Goods regulations which is available for purchase ($200 including shipping) if the student does not already have one.

The training is valid for up to two years (under IATA/ICAO regulations).
